ALIGARH, Aug. 11 -- ALIGARH, August 11: Prof Abu Tariq, Department of Electrical Engineering, Zakir Husain College of Engineering & Technology (ZHCET), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), has been appointed Chairman of the department for a period of three years with effect from August 12, 2026.
Prof Tariq has been associated with the Department of Electrical Engineering since 1990 and has been serving as Professor since January 2016. His research focuses on power electronics and its applications in photovoltaic systems and drives.
He has published research papers in national and international journals and conferences, authored two books and a book chapter, and holds a patent for a "Barefoot Detection Sensor".
