Presiding over the inaugural programme, AMU Vice Chancellor Prof. Naima Khatoon highlighted the importance and wider use of Hindi, describing it as India's largest link language. She said Hindi Day is not merely a ceremonial occasion but a powerful medium to express the country's traditions and culture. She emphasised that people should not feel hesitant or develop any sense of inferiority while using their mother tongue.
