India, Sept. 21 -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sunday said he had an important conversation with his American counterpart, Donald Trump, and that the two leaders had agreed to meet in New York.

In a post on X following the conversation, Zelenskyy said the talks covered several key issues and described the planned meeting as potentially significant.

"I just spoke with President Trump @POTUS. An important conversation, and we got through a lot. We agreed to meet in New York, and this meeting could change a lot. There is diplomatic momentum," Zelenskyy wrote.

He also thanked Trump for sending his envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, to Kyiv for peace talks.
