India, June 27 -- Video-sharing platform YouTube has announced a series of updates to its Shorts feature, which will be rolled out over the coming days, aimed at improving the viewing experience and user interaction.

One of the key updates is a new Clear Screen mode, which allows users to watch Shorts without on-screen overlays such as icons and text cluttering the playback view.

According to YouTube, the feature offers an "immersive, distraction-free view" by temporarily hiding interface elements during playback.

YouTube Shorts will also soon support double playback speed, enabling users to consume content more quickly or jump to key moments with ease.
