India, April 10 -- A woman allegedly killed her husband and spent the night sitting beside his body in Gujarat's Narmada district, police said.

According to officials, the couple had gone out together when an argument broke out between them.

In response, the woman reportedly picked up a nearby stone and struck him on the head, causing fatal injuries.

She was discovered the next morning by local authorities, who took her into custody.

The reason behind the argument is not yet known.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
