India, April 21 -- In a major leadership change, Apple CEO Tim Cook will step down and he will be replaced by John Ternus, who is currently Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering at Apple.
In his new role, Tim Cook will serve as Executive Chairman of Apple's Board of Directors.
Cook will continue as CEO through the summer, working closely with Ternus to ensure a smooth leadership transition.

Ternus joined Apple's product design team in 2001 and became a vice president of Hardware Engineering in 2013.
He joined the executive team in 2021 as senior vice president of Hardware Engineering.
