Mumbai/IBNS, May 7 -- Vivek Agnihotri's The Bengal Files, which had faced hurdles in West Bengal under the Mamata Banerjee government, is now set to be released in the state following the regime change.

The film will return to theatres across West Bengal from Friday after the BJP came to power by defeating the Trinamool Congress government in the Assembly elections.

Agnihotri Recalls 'Cancellation' in Bengal

The filmmaker further claimed that during the elections, the film "was shown to as many people as possible (underground) across Bengal".

"And finally. this unprecedented victory. Congratulations to the great people of Bengal. Now you can walk without fear, with your head held high," he wrote.
