India, June 4 -- The US House of Representatives has passed a resolution calling for the withdrawal of American troops from the conflict with Iran, delivering a significant political setback to President Donald Trump despite the measure being largely symbolic.

The resolution passed 215-208 on Wednesday, with four Republicans joining Democrats in support. It now moves to the Senate, where its fate remains uncertain.

Even if approved, the measure is expected to face a presidential veto.
