India, Aug. 19 -- At least two police officers died, and another one was injured after a suspect opened fire in Tremonton, Utah, US on Sunday.

The suspect has been taken into custody.

Two Tremonton Garland Police officers and a deputy from the Box Elder County Sheriff's Office responded around 9:30 p.m. to multiple 911 hang-up calls at a residence near North Park Elementary School, the Brigham City Police Department said in a news release on Monday morning as quoted by Fox News.

The police officers were responding to a domestic disturbance call when the shooting occurred.

The second officer was killed when he rushed to help his colleague.
