India, July 27 -- At least 11 people were injured in a stabbing attack inside a Walmart in the US state of Michigan, officials said on Sunday.

Police have taken the man into custody.

Confirming the development, Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office wrote on Facebook: "On 7-26-25 at 4:43 pm, a 42 year old male subject, acting alone, entered Walmart in Garfield Township and used a folding knife to stab eleven people of unknown ages."

"A Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Deputy was on scene within minutes and took the man into custody. Citizens in Walmart also assisted in the apprehension and treatment of victims," the Facebook post said.

The Sheriff's Office said all victims are being treated for injuries at Munson Medical Center.
