India, May 27 -- A US delegation led by its chief negotiator will visit India from June 1 to June 4 to discuss and finalise the details of an interim trade agreement between the two countries.

According to a government statement, the proposed discussions aim to finalise the Interim Agreement and advance negotiations under the broader India-US Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA).

India and the United States had issued a joint statement on February 7, 2026, agreeing on a framework for an interim agreement focused on reciprocal and mutually beneficial trade.

The framework also reaffirmed both countries' commitment to wider negotiations under the proposed India-US Bilateral Trade Agreement.
