Dispur/IBNS, March 6 -- Two pilots of the Indian Air Force were killed after a Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter jet crashed in Karbi Anglong district of Assam, about 60 kilometres from Jorhat, media reports said.
Squadron Leader Anuj and Flight Lieutenant Purvesh Duragkar sustained fatal injuries in the crash, which occurred during a training mission.
The aircraft had taken off from the airbase in Jorhat on Thursday evening but soon lost contact with ground control.
According to the IAF, the fighter jet lost contact with the ground at around 7:42 pm.
