Washington DC/IBNS, Sept. 19 -- US President Donald Trump has signed the Russia sanctions bill into law, paving the way for tariffs of up to 100% on countries that continue to purchase Russian oil and gas, putting major buyers such as India and China under potential pressure, media reports said.

Trump signed the legislation on Friday, two days after the Republican-led House of Representatives passed it by a vote of 262-159.

The bill had earlier cleared the Senate.

Officially titled the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026, the legislation is named after Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, a prominent supporter of Ukraine who died in July this year.
