India, March 8 -- Senior Iranian security official Ali Larijani issued a strong warning to Donald Trump on Sunday, saying Tehran would avenge the "blood of our leader," referring to the reported death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Larijani warned that Trump would "pay the price" for Khamenei's death.

In a post on X, Larijani wrote: "We will relentlessly avenge the blood of our Leader and our people. Trump must pay and will pay."

Larijani has emerged as one of the prominent figures in Iran's leadership following reports of Khamenei's death.
