Anchorage, Aug. 16 -- US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin met in Alaska on Friday for discussions on the Ukraine war, exchanging two handshakes and engaging in a friendly yet animated conversation on the tarmac, according to media reports.
After arriving at a US military base, the two leaders took part in a choreographed red carpet greeting ahead of their talks, reported CNN.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who was not invited to the summit, said Kyiv is "counting on America" and noted there was "no indication" Moscow is prepared to end hostilities.
