India, Aug. 9 -- A 32-year-old man has been arrested nearly seven months after his Indian-origin partner was found murdered at a Toronto residence, bringing a major development in a case that shocked the Indian community in Canada.

Toronto Police said Abdul Ghafoori was arrested on Friday at a Toronto airport. He had been wanted on a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the death of Himanshi Khurana, 30.

They did not disclose where he had been staying before his return.
