India, Aug. 3 -- Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios' latest superhero blockbuster, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, continues to dominate the global box office, delivering one of the biggest opening weekends in cinematic history.

According to the latest box office figures, Spider-Man: Brand New Day recorded a massive $355 million opening weekend in North America, making it the second-biggest domestic debut of all time, behind only Avengers: Endgame, which opened to $357 million in 2019, CNN reported.

The latest installment significantly outperformed its predecessor in North America. Spider-Man: No Way Home, released in 2021, debuted with $260 million in the domestic market.
