India, May 19 -- There is good news for people in Malta as the country has partnered with OpenAI to provide its citizens with free access to ChatGPT Plus, making it the first nation in the world to offer universal access to premium AI tools alongside mandatory digital literacy training.

Sharing details of the partnership, OpenAI said the initiative is designed to provide citizens with access to advanced AI while equipping them with practical skills to use the technology responsibly in their everyday lives.

Under Malta's AI for All initiative, people from all backgrounds will have the opportunity to learn how AI can be used effectively and responsibly through a course developed by the University of Malta.
