India, June 29 -- If the pristine beaches of Seychelles are on your travel bucket list, there is excellent news ahead. The island nation is poised to join the growing list of international destinations adopting India's digital payment infrastructure, allowing Indian tourists to make seamless payments using their existing UPI apps.

The announcement was made by Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri during a recent press briefing.

"The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and the Central Bank of Seychelles have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deploy the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in Seychelles," Misri said.
