India, July 26 -- An American man dressed as Spider-Man has won widespread praise online after stopping to help a wheelchair user safely cross a busy intersection in Arkansas.

The heartwarming act was captured on camera, and the masked Good Samaritan was later identified as Christopher Hellenthal.

Video footage shared by the Jonesboro Police Department showed Hellenthal jumping out of a red car to assist a man in a wheelchair who was struggling to cross the road at an intersection.

Speaking to ABC News, Hellenthal explained that he was dressed as the iconic Marvel superhero because he was on his way to work at a trampoline park, where he portrays Spider-Man and entertains children.
