New Delhi/IBNS, Nov. 5 -- The Indian Youth Congress has suspended more than 180 of its members for allegedly skipping the INDIA bloc rally at Ramlila Maidan in the national capital, triggering resentment among several party workers, NDTV reported.

The disciplinary action has drawn criticism from members of the Congress' youth wing, with some questioning the decision to penalise them for missing a single political event.

Speaking to the broadcaster, Rajoria said he could not attend the INDIA bloc rally because he had to participate in the funeral of his uncle.

He claimed that he had informed the party in advance about his inability to travel to Delhi.
