New Delhi/IBNS, Sept. 23 -- A fresh faceoff between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Opposition has erupted over the controversial Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls following an investigation by The Indian Express that reported internal objections within the Election Commission of India (ECI) over several decisions related to the voter revision exercise.

The report concerns differences involving Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi.

The report said the objections covered changes to Form 6, access to the electoral-roll database, deletion and restoration of voters, and aspects of the ECI's internal decision-making.
