Chennai/IBNS, Feb. 13 -- Actor-turned-politician Vijay has slammed Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin for crediting Rs 5,000 - including an advance payment of Rs 3,000 - under a state-sponsored scheme for women just weeks ahead of the Assembly elections, media reports said.

Vijay, who heads his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), on Friday accused the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) of attempting to buy votes ahead of the polls expected this summer.

Besides attacking the ruling camp, the TVK chief urged voters to accept the money but vote against the DMK.
