Kolkata/IBNS, March 21 -- Five people have been arrested after a 40-year-old man died after getting trapped in an elevator at R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital on Friday, media reports said.
The victim, Arup Bandyopadhyay, a resident of Dum Dum, had visited the hospital for the surgery of his three-year-old son, who had suffered a fractured leg.
Arup, along with his wife Sonali and son Ayush, entered an elevator in the hospital's Trauma Care Centre to reach the fifth floor when it malfunctioned and got stuck.
While Sonali and the child sustained minor bruises, Arup got wedged between the elevator doors while attempting to force them open.
