Rahul Gandhi, sister Priyanka detained after 9-hour sit-in outside Election Commission
India, Oct. 6 -- Nearly nine hours after Rahul Gandhi led Opposition MPs in a march from Parliament to the Election Commission, Delhi Police detained the Leader of the Opposition and several other leaders on Tuesday evening as their sit-in near the poll panel's office continued.
Rahul Gandhi and his sister, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, were among the leaders taken into custody around 8 pm.
Visuals showed police personnel dragging Rahul Gandhi away as Congress workers attempted to resist the detention.
Congress sources said the detained leaders were being taken to Kingsway Camp in north Delhi.
