India, Oct. 7 -- Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was detained in Delhi on Wednesday as INDIA bloc members staged a protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, media reports said.

According to reports, Rahul Gandhi and his sister, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, were among the opposition leaders detained by Delhi Police during the protest.

The protesting opposition leaders were detained as they attempted to proceed towards Jantar Mantar for the demonstration.
