New Delhi/IBNS, June 24 -- Actor R. Madhavan was honoured with the Padma Shri by President Droupadi Murmu at the second investiture ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday.

Madhavan's wife, Sarita Birje Madhavan, celebrated the actor's achievement with a heartfelt social media post.

Madhavan also shared an emotional note on social media, expressing gratitude to the Government of India for the prestigious honour and to the Maharashtra government for recommending his name.
