Protest turns violent: CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke slapped repeatedly at Jaipur demonstration, 6 held
India, June 15 -- Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), was assaulted during a protest in Jaipur on Monday, prompting police to detain six people and launch an investigation into the incident.
The attack took place while the CJP was holding a demonstration at Shaheed Smarak to protest alleged paper leaks, unemployment and broader issues in the education sector.
Videos circulating on social media showed Dipke being carried on the shoulders of supporters when a man allegedly grabbed a cloth around his neck and pulled him.
The footage further showed Dipke being slapped and hit repeatedly by at least two individuals before they were overpowered by his supporters.
