India, Sept. 28 -- An elderly priest was assaulted inside a temple in Jaipur after a dispute over the volume of devotional songs being played on speakers.

The incident, captured on CCTV, took place in the Kardhani area of the Rajasthan capital.

The assault was reported at around 7:45 pm at a Shiva temple on Ganesh Nagar Main, Nivaru Road.

According to the complaint, three members of a family living near the temple - identified as Harish Chaturvedi, his son Devansh and Ritu - entered the temple premises and confronted priest Ramakrishna over the volume of the bhajans.

CCTV footage shows the priest arguing with one of the men before the confrontation turns physical.
