New Delhi/IBNS, Oct. 9 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has welcomed US President Donald Trump's first phase of the Gaza peace plan, saying the truce deal also reflects Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's "strong leadership".

Trump has announced Israel and Hamas have agreed to the first phase of the Gaza peace deal.

The President said it is a "great day" for the Arab, Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding nations and the US.

As per a report by BBC News, Hamas has agreed to the deal but it is yet to receive the final list of prisoners to be released by Israel in exchange.
