India, April 12 -- A video showing a cordial interaction between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has gone viral, drawing attention for its rarity in India's deeply polarised political climate.

The interaction took place at the Parliament complex on Saturday, where top leaders assembled to pay tribute to social reformer Mahatma Jyotirao Phule on his 200th birth anniversary.

The video shows the Prime Minister greeting Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Ministers JP Nadda and Arjun Ram Meghwal, before stopping to exchange a few words with Gandhi.
