New Delhi/IBNS, Oct. 10 -- Former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was detained outside Kerala Bhawan in the national capital on Saturday amid protests against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar.

CPI(M) MP John Brittas was also detained along with Vijayan.

In a video message, Brittas said he, Vijayan and senior CPI(M) leader and former Kerala Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal were taken away in a police jeep.

Brittas also issued a warning to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over their alleged attempts to shield Gyanesh Kumar.
