India, Aug. 17 -- Pakistani selectors on Sunday named theAsia Cup squad, where senior stars like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan failed to find a place.

The UAE will host the tournament next month.

It will be played in a T20 format this year, ahead of the World T20.

Salman Agha has been named as the skipper of the Pakistani squad.

The tournament will be played from September 9 to September 28.

Pakistan has named a 17-member squad for the tournament.

The eight-nation tournament will be staged in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Pakistan are placed in Group 'A' alongside India, Oman and UAE.
