Pakistan cybercrime agency raids Lahore call centres, over 3 dozen detained in fraud probe
India, Oct. 5 -- Pakistan's National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has raided two alleged illegal call centres in Lahore, detaining more than three dozen people, media reports said on Monday.
According to reports, the call centres were allegedly involved in defrauding people overseas.
An NCCIA spokesperson told Dawn News that raids were conducted at premises in Faisal Town and Johar Town, resulting in the arrest of dozens of suspects.
The spokesperson said the suspects allegedly used dialling software to target people abroad with fraudulent calls made under the pretext of mobile upgrades and telecommunications services.
