Kathmandu/IBNS, July 13 -- The death of a 25-year-old ride-sharing driver after he set himself on fire following an encounter with Kathmandu Metropolitan City police has reignited public outrage in Nepal, with hundreds of mostly young demonstrators returning to the streets to demand accountability from the administration led by Prime Minister Balendra (Balen) Shah.

The incident has revived criticism of the capital's municipal authorities and renewed scrutiny of the aggressive enforcement methods adopted under Shah's leadership, despite his administration securing overwhelming public support less than a year ago.
