India, July 3 -- Pakistani police have launched a fresh investigation into the 2021 disappearance of nine-year-old Hindu girl Priya Kumari following renewed calls for her recovery, according to media reports.

The development emerged on Thursday during a briefing by senior Sindh Police officials to a meeting of the Minority Caucus-a bipartisan legislative forum established to safeguard the constitutional rights of non-Muslim communities, Dawn reported.

According to the report, police officials informed the meeting that a fresh inquiry had been initiated and that all possible efforts were being made to ensure the girl's early and safe recovery.
