India, June 7 -- In a political twist few in Bengal would have anticipated, Mira Bhattacharjee-the widow of former Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and a respected figure within the state's Left legacy-has publicly praised the BJP government led by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari for its rapid implementation of election promises.

Speaking to Aaj Tak Bangla, she said, "The way the new government has worked within just a few days is highly commendable."

"I am happy to see that they are implementing their promises so quickly," she added.
