India, March 3 -- Indian PM Narendra Modi on Monday held a telephone conversation with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, strongly condemning the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia amid escalating tensions in West Asia following US and Israeli strikes on Iran.

According to an official statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, the two leaders discussed the rapidly evolving situation in the region.

"Prime Minister Modi strongly condemned the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia, noting that they violate its sovereignty and territorial integrity," the statement said.

Both leaders agreed that the earliest restoration of regional peace and stability remains of utmost importance.
