India, May 3 -- Passengers aboard an Air Arabia flight from Sharjah to Chennai were left stunned early this morning after a male passenger allegedly opened the emergency exit door and jumped out while the aircraft was still taxiing after landing.

According to airport officials, the aircraft had landed safely at Chennai International Airport and exited the main runway when the incident occurred.

The plane was reportedly moving slowly on a taxiway before coming to a full halt.

Officials clarified that the incident did not happen on the main runway.
