India, July 7 -- A massive war of words has erupted between French football superstar Kylian Mbappe and Paraguayan Senator Celeste Amarilla, extending the ugly fallout from France's Round of 16 victory over Paraguay at the FIFA World Cup.

Amarilla has issued a lengthy public statement demanding an apology from Mbappe after her remarks about the French captain triggered widespread outrage online.
