India, May 25 -- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his wife, Jeanette Rubio, joined the list of global dignitaries captivated by the beauty of the iconic Taj Mahal during their visit to the Mughal-era monument on Monday.

The couple spent over an hour exploring the historic complex in the northern Indian city of Agra. They were accompanied by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor.

Sharing photographs from the visit on X, Gor wrote, "Wonderful to be back at the iconic Taj Mahal with @SecRubio, @jeanettedr4 and Robert Gabriel. A breathtaking symbol of India's extraordinary heritage and craftsmanship."

Rubio is currently on a four-day visit to India and is scheduled to attend the upcoming Quad meeting on Tuesday.
