India, Oct. 27 -- External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Kuala Lumpur, where they discussed bilateral ties.
He said he discussed regional and global issues with the American leader.
"Glad to meet @SecRubio this morning in Kuala Lumpur," Jaishankar wrote on X.
"Appreciated the discussion on our bilateral ties as well as regional and global issues," he said.
The meeting occurred on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit in Malaysia.
The meeting took place against the backdrop of the proposed bilateral trade deal between India and the U.S.
Five rounds of talks over India-US trade ties have been completed so far.
