India, June 9 -- The Israeli government has decided to install a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the Maratha Empire, in Israel, marking a significant cultural gesture between the two nations.

The announcement was made by Israeli Consul General in Mumbai Yaniv Revach during the Shiv Rajyabhishek Din celebrations. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Revach said: "On Shivrajyabhishek Din, I wish to proudly announce that we are going to install a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Israel."
