India, April 10 -- In a surprise move, tech major Samsung has announced the return of its premium Galaxy Z TriFold smartphone, offering consumers what could be their final opportunity to purchase the device.

The fresh stock comes despite the company confirming in March that it would discontinue the handset. According to a report by PCMag, a new batch of the foldable device will be made available on Friday, April 10.

Priced at $2,899, the Galaxy Z TriFold is among the most expensive foldable devices in the market. The device was first launched in South Korea on December 12 before making its way to the US via Samsung's online store on January 30, as reported by CNET.
