Kolkata: Bhooter Bhabishyat director Anik Dutta dies after falling from the roof of Gariahat residence
India, May 27 -- Bengali film director Anik Dutta died on Wednesday after falling from the roof of his residence located in Gariahat area in south Kolkata, media reports said.
According to reports, he was rushed to a private hospital in south Kolkata where he died.
It is still not clear what led to his fall from the roof of the house.
Anik Dutta is the grandson of Narendra Chandra Dutta, the founder of United Bank of India.
He made his directorial debut in 2012 with Bhooter Bhabishyat, a film that earned both critical and Box Office success.
The film had drawn attention for its political and social satire presented through the horror narrative.
The film was later remade in Bollywood with the title Gang of Ghosts.
