India, July 23 -- The ongoing protests led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) in New Delhi have received open backing from overseas separatist elements after Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the US-based chief of the banned Khalistani organisation Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), announced financial support for the agitation and renewed calls for India's disintegration.

In a video statement, Pannun claimed that he had held a Zoom meeting with CJP leaders and announced that SFJ would provide USD 1 million to support the student-led movement.

He also urged protesters to continue their agitation until August 15, reject India's Independence Day celebrations, and refuse any negotiations with the Central government.
