India, June 7 -- The Southwest Monsoon, which arrived in Kerala on June 4 after a delayed onset, has further advanced into additional parts of India, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday.

According to the IMD, the monsoon has progressed into parts of west-central and the entire northeast Bay of Bengal, as well as several areas of the northwest Bay of Bengal. It has also covered the entire states of Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram, along with parts of Tripura, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh.

The weather department said conditions remain favourable for further advancement of the Southwest Monsoon over the next 3-4 days. It is likely to move into additional parts of the central Arabian Sea, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangan...
