India, Aug. 9 -- US Vice President JD Vance spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday as India and the United States look to strengthen their ties amid heightened tensions in West Asia.

During the phone conversation, the two leaders discussed ways to further expand the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership across key areas, PM Modi said.

"Received a phone call from US Vice President JD Vance. We discussed ways to further deepen India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership across key areas," PM Modi said in a post on social media.

"Warmly congratulated him and the Second Lady on the birth of their son and conveyed best wishes to the entire family," he added.
