India, April 8 -- Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) this week, marking his first visit to the country since the escalation of conflict in West Asia, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed on Tuesday.
He will also visit Mauritius as part of a two-nation tour.
"He will also deliver the keynote address at the 9th Indian Ocean Conference," the statement said.
On the sidelines of the event, the minister is expected to hold discussions with counterparts from participating countries.
The visit, the MEA noted, underscores India's 'Neighbourhood First' policy, Vision MAHASAGAR, and its commitment to the Global South.
