India was on Osama Bin Laden's attack radar in 1998, CIA files reveal
India, Sept. 13 -- India was among the countries Osama bin Laden had considered targeting in terrorist attacks, newly declassified US intelligence documents have revealed, offering a glimpse into the global ambitions of the al-Qaeda chief years before the September 11, 2001 attacks, NDTV reported.
The Central Intelligence Agency on Friday released 71 President's Daily Brief products, containing more than 100 pages of previously classified intelligence, to mark the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
One of the documents, dated August 28, 1998, and titled "Bin Ladin Terrorist Network Still a Threat," mentions India among several countries that bin Laden wanted to attack.
